Where Independent Learners Engineer the Future
About Us
IEP Robotics sponsors hands-on STEM programs for students ages 6-18, operating under the umbrella of the Independent Education Program (IEP). We bring the world of FIRST® Robotics to homeschool and alternatively-educated students in Utah, providing a la carte access to high-quality, competitive team environments. Our teams foster grit, active learning, and real-world problem-solving. We are dedicated to developing the next generation of leaders in science and technology by mentoring students in engineering, coding, teamwork, and creative thinking.
FIRST® Tech Challenge (FTC)
For students in grades 7-12, our FTC teams dive deep into the engineering process. Students are challenged to design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in an exciting, alliance-based game. This head-to-head competition goes beyond robotics, teaching participants to develop strategy, build a team brand, and practice STEM skills in a rigorous and rewarding environment.
FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge (FLL Challenge)
Aimed at students in grades 4-8, the FLL Challenge is where STEM and real-world problem-solving collide. Teams engage in research, problem-solving, coding, and engineering to build and program a LEGO®-based autonomous robot. Concurrently, they research a real-world problem, developing an innovative solution and presenting their findings, all while guided by the FIRST Core Values.
FIRST® LEGO® League Explore (FLL Explore)
Our FLL Explore teams, for children ages 6-10, introduce our youngest members to the fundamentals of engineering. In this non-competitive program, teams explore a new real-world challenge each season. They use LEGO® elements to build a motorized model of their solution, learn to code, and create a “Show Me” poster to share what they’ve discovered. It’s a perfect start to building curiosity, confidence, and teamwork.
